Duvan needs to check what the maximum memory capacity of his motherboard is. It is likely 4GB.

The hard drive activity sounds normal and it should pass after a short time. It not passing is a sign of a virus. A potential fix for the drive being too slow for normal activities is upgrading to an SSD.

Upgrading to Windows 10 may improve his experience as well.
