I'm not sure if this is exactly lines 56-67, but a part of Odysseus ' plan to defeat the cyclops required that he tell him his name was 'Nobody'
After he and his crew escape having poked out the cyclops only eye , he turns around and yells that his real name is Odysseus so he'll know the real name of the great man who defeated him
this shows that they liked to be known for things they've done, and that they kinda like having all the glory
