They believed that there were two realms before the Earth was fully formed: the sky, and the lower world which contained the water and its creatures. When Sky Woman fell from the cloud world above, two swans came to rescue her but were not strong enough to support her. A creature by the name of Great Turtle offered to hold her. Other water creatures brought Earth from the bottom of the sea to put on the back of the Great Turtle.
