What is the passage about?

The passage we are analyzing here focuses on the fact that, although technology was helpful when it came to finding people who needed to be rescued, the teens who were doing the rescuing still risked their lives.

The boat could only hold a few people at a time and, even a water polo player such as Liam was struggling with the current. In other words, the author wants to show us how those teens put their own lives on the line for others.

Technology, in the passage, was able to locate people, but it couldn't prevent the risks to everyone's lives.
