Dr. Martin Luther King fought for civil rights and to have everyone united. Segregation was dissolved by the government and schools and public places were open to all people.

In current news, Harvard University has recently allowed dorm rooms to be segregated again
because of the petition by African American students.

people who we see as racist don't see members of the black community equal, therefore they often think they don't deserve the same rights as white people. segregation is a very harmful way they think will "fix the problems."
