A student is selected to be the leader of a town meeting. During this meeting students freely discuss their ideas for the end of year field trip. Every student shares his/her ideas with feedback and questions from the group. After everyone has voiced their opinions a motion is made to hold a vote. The idea receiving the majority of votes will be chosen.

Direct democracy means that the public is directly involved in decision-making, without representatives or other intermediaries.
