Argumentative Essay, part 1: First, use a reading about Nigeria to answer questions about populations that have fast growth.

Nigeria is located in Africa. It has had fast growth in population in recent years. In 2020, Nigeria has a high fertility rate (4.7); a typical mother has close to 5 children in her lifetime. Children under age 15 are a large portion of the population (43% in 2020), and people over age 65 are a small portion of the population (3% in 2020).

In Nigeria, fast population growth has resulted in crowded conditions. For example, in some city apartment buildings, close to 50 people share one toilet and one kitchen. In early grades in city schools, two children often share a desk. There are many young people (age 15-24); half have difficulty finding jobs after they graduate from high school or college, and some have looked for jobs in other countries. However, Nigeria does have large numbers of workers to support children and the elderly

Describe two disadvantages when a country’s population grows fast. Include evidence from the readings.

Respuesta :

Answer:

Nigeria is actually located in some in between Africa and north Africa.

Explanation:

Disadvantages include easy spread of diseases. When a country is overpopulated and is strike with a epidemic, pandemic etc it’ll be hard to control the spread :”In Nigeria, fast population growth has resulted in crowded conditions. For example, in some city apartment buildings, close to 50 people share one toilet and one kitchen”. That makes it more likely for a disease to spread much faster . Another disadvantage would be the unemployment rate . If Nigeria has a high fertility rate that’ll mean more people meaning not enough jobs for all these people . It would usually also contribute to a high poverty level , which Nigeria has . So these kids won’t be able to have education after highschool perhaps. That increased the unemployment rate and poverty rate because it would make it very difficult to have a cooperate job or anything else that gives good pay . The only option would be a job below minimum wage. Either way the unemployment rate would go high and so will the poverty rate :”Half have difficulty finding jobs after they graduate from highschool or college” .
