I would approach the worker out of the jobs and see if there is anything going on. See if there is anything that I could do to help. If she says no and nothing changed then I would have to bring it to a higher attention at a higher level.
If a co-worker who doubles as a friend has been neglecting his duties, I will gently remind him of the need to be diligent in his duty and also offer tips for improvement. If he rejects my counsel, I will inform a supervisor of his conduct.
In the work atmosphere, my allegiance is foremost to the company because its success will be beneficial to me and others therein. It will be wrong for me to cover up for a friend who is negligent in his duties because it will be detrimental to the growth of the company.
Therefore, as a friend, I will remind him of the need to be resourceful and offer corrections and ways to improve. The problem will be resolved if he listens to me, but if not I will have to seek the attention of a supervisor.
Conclusively, I will correct him or inform a supervisor.
