A: Dry media can be erased and corrected, Painting cannot be erased and takes longer to correct.

B: Depending on storage/exposure, Dry media will last longer than most anything. Old types of paint often rot and must be restored. New paints may be ruined with water spills and rain if not conserved properly.

C: A sketchbook and pencils may cost 6$ at the local store. Paints, canvas, easel, primer paints, brushes, etc, can be over 30$ in materials alone.

D: Refer to what I said about B. Ultimately, it is the care given to the art is what determines how long it last.
