Read the poem “Hope Is the Thing with Feathers,” by Emily Dickinson.

Hope Is the Thing with Feathers

Hope is the thing with feathers,
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune without the words,
and never stops at all,

And sweetest in the gale is heard,
and sore must be the storm
That could abash the little bird
That kept so many warm.

I’ve heard it in the chillest land
and on the strangest sea,
Yet, never in extremity,
It asked a crumb of me.

What is the theme of this poem?

Without hope, people are not human.

Hope does not give up, even when life is difficult.

People hope for things that do not come true.

Spring is a hopeful season.

Respuesta :

Hope does not give up, even when life is difficult.

Hope, in this poem by Emily Dickinson, is given the qualities of a bird, "the thing with feathers" "And sings the tune without the words". This mighty entity does not give up, even when life is difficult. The right option is C. There are words in the poem that confirm the idea of endurance despite the adversities such as "never stops at all", and regardless the hardness of life, hope has never "asked a crumb of me."
