Bushido or usually translated as “Precepts of Knighthood” or “Way of the Warrior” is a code in which a samurai has to live by what was also based in a moral way of life.
The elements or virtues of Bushido are as follows:
1. Justice
2. Courage
3. Mercy
4. Politeness
5. Honesty & Sincerity
6. Honor
7. Loyalty
8. Character & Self-control
Chivalry may be defined as the moral and social law and custom of the
noble and gentle class in Western Europe during the Middle Ages, and the
result of that law and custom in action.
Its three principal factors are:
religion, war, and love of ladies.
Bushido and the code of chivalry would work well in today's world by
installing respect as a value in people's lives. The lack of respect
towards one another is appalling and is a big reason why our society is
in a downwards spiral. We discriminate others for how they dress, the
way they talk, and the way they look.
