The freezing point of water is 32o F. Tim added potassium and found out that the freezing point went down by 8o F. What was the freezing point of the water with the added potassium ?

went down in this case probably from 32-80 so it is -48°F

Since the freezing point went down by 80 F,

So freezing point =   32  -  80 = -48

Freezing point when potassium was added = - 48°F
