There can be a wide range of reasons that there has been a decrease in wildlife.
One of these could be the urbanisation of the area. This is where factories and houses are built on land that has previously been home to wildlife. Pollution is also another contributing factor, as if local rivers are polluted with waste, this is something that can cause some of the wildlife to die.
