So first it'll help to find the slope. You could do that by finding two perfect points, which in my case I chose (3,4) and (4,2). Then you tell what the rise over run is....you go down 2 and right 1 to get from (3,4) to (4,2). So the slope would be -2, since we went down it'll become a negative.
Finding the y-intercept:
Then after we found the slope we could easily make an equation and solve it for the y-intercept, but first we'll need to get a point. Let's choose (4,2). So after you got your point you will plug it into the slope formula like this....

Then we solve it to get....
[tex]2=-2(4)+b\\2=-8+b\\b=10[/tex]
So the y-intercept is 10.
