Although some experts agree that children are less likely to become infected with the disease, however, due to the closure of schools because of the pandemic, it results in the following effects on grade 12 learners:
reduction in the development of their cognitive ability, in other words, it reduces their learning ability
reduction in their physical development
increased anxiety (as they may fear being infected or as a result of the loss of a friend).
