Community Gym charges a $40 membership fee and a $70 monthly fee. Workout Gym charges a $190 membership fee and a $60 monthly fee. After how many months will the total amount of money paid to both gyms be the same? What will the amount be?

The number of  months that  the total amount of money paid to both gyms be the same is 15 months and What will the amount will  be is $1,090

Let  y represent the total fee, and let  x represent the number of months.

Equation 1:

y=40+70x

Equation 2:

y=190+60x

Now let Solve for  x and y :

40+70x=190+60x

10x=150

x=150/10

x=15

y=190+60(15)

y=190+900

y=1,090

Therefore the number of  months that  the total amount of money paid to both gyms be the same is 15 months and What will the amount will  be is $1,090.
