In the mature phase of Roman Empire, almost every corner of the Empire took christianity as the state religion except North Africa. There are many reasons for it, some of them are:
- Coming of Islam: After Roman empire North Africa was routinely attacked by another empire which was influenced by Islam.
- Persecution of Christians: The rulers of North Africa were for political gains persecuted christians.
- Role of Emperor Diocletian: He was known as the most powerful king of that time who was totally against the christianity.
Therefore, by 476 North Africa was not the part of Chrisitanity based state of Roman Empire.
