Reading nonfictional text to is different from reading fictional text because nonfictional text informs you about something, or is basically telling you something that isn't made up, it is telling you the truth, or an event that actually happened; where fictional text isn't the truth, or an event that actually happened. So fictional stories, or texts, are called fairy tales, folk tales, folk lures, myths, etc. Fictional writing is made up in the mind of different people for either entertainment, or to have some purpose to kids, such as frightening them into behaving, making them scared to misbehave, or just to teach kids a lesson in the form of a short fairy tale. Short fairy tales that teach kids a lesson without scaring them are called Fables, and the lessons that they teach are called morals. So basically, Nonfictional writing is about an event that actually happened, and Fictonal writing isn't real.
