Oysters are a major part of the diet of starfish. Because of this, people who catch oysters for a living used to try and kill starfish by cutting them up and throwing them back into the sea. Suggest why this practice did not reduce the number of starfish.

Well I Think that oysters keep making what ever the inside is called so long as they are in the water so starfish would still have food and the people who catch them still have a job because there would still be plenty of oysters.
