I have a few questions.

When bonded with four hydrogen atoms, carbon has which shape?
A. bent
B. linear
C. tetrahedral
D. hexagonal

All of the following are characteristics of diamonds except which of these?
A. Diamonds are dense.
B. Diamonds are colorless.
C. Diamonds are able to conduct heat.
D. Diamonds are the softest materials known.

All of the following statements are true of graphite except which of these?
A. Graphite is used in pencils.
B. Graphite is a decent conductor of electricity.
C. Graphite is the hardest material known.
D. Graphite is used in lubricants, sporting goods, and aircraft.

Graphite is able to conduct electricity due to
A. ionic bonds.
B. metallic bonds.
C. delocalized electrons.
D. its rigid structure and density.

Respuesta :

1. Tetrahedral
2. diamonds are the softest materials known is not true
3. graphite is not the hardest known material
4.  delocalized electrons.  The reason why I did not say metallic bonds is that carbon is not a metal so I don't think it can be considered a metallic bond even though it has the properties of metallic bonds.  Also, I think the structure of graphite is not like the structure of a metal since it is made up of layers.
I hope this helps. let me know in the comments if anything is unclear.
