➷ 1) Alkali metals (group 1 on the periodic table)
2) Lithium - Li
Sodium - Na
Potassium - K
Rubidium - Rb
Cesium - Cs
Francium - Fr
3) These elements are grouped together as they react similarly and they all have 1 electron in their outer shell. They bond with other atoms to form 1+ ions. They all have low melting points and low densities.
4) Francium. It has a much lower melting point than the other elements (only 27 degrees) but is very reactive. When it reacts with other things, it creates a violent reaction.

1.Choose one from the following list of common regions on the Periodic Table of Elements:
I pick Noble Gases
2.List the symbol and name for each element in your selected region.
He for Helium, Ne for Neon, Ar for Argon, Kr for Krypton, Xe for Xenon and Rn for Radon.
3.Explain in a few sentences why these elements are grouped together.
They all have completely filled outermost electron shells. Because of that, they are very stable and not very reactive. That is why they are called Nobles Gases as they usually do not form compounds with other elements.
4.Choose one element from your region. What makes it unique from all the others?
Radon, Rn, is the heaviest noble gas. It is also the largest in size and the only one that is radioactive.
