Refine [tex]2(4z-3-1)[/tex]

[tex]= 2(4z-4)[/tex]

Refine : [tex]166 - 16 = 120[/tex]

therefore:

[tex]2(z-4) = 120[/tex]

Divide both sides by  2 :

[tex] \frac{2(z-4)}{2} = \frac{120}{2} [/tex]

[tex]4z-4 = 60[/tex]

add 4  to both sides:

[tex]4z-4+4 = 60+4[/tex]

[tex]4z = 64[/tex]

Divide both sides by 4 :

[tex] \frac{4z}{4} = \frac{64}{4} [/tex]

[tex]z = 16[/tex]

hope this helps!

Solutions

1) Simplify 4z−3−1 to 4z−4

2(4z−4)=166−46

2)
Simplify 166−46 to 120

2(4z−4)=120

3)
Divide the equation from both sides by 2

4z−4=120 ÷ 2

4)
Simplify 120 ÷ 2 to 60

4z−4=60

5)
 Add 4 to both sides

4z=60+4

6)
Simplify 60+4 to 64

4z=64

7)
Divide both sides by 4z=64 ÷ 4

8)
Simplify 64 ÷ 4 to 16

z=16
