The correct answer is option 1. As time went on, the Russian people viewed their country's participation in World War I as something to be against for, because of the high casualty rate. The First World War went on from 1914 until its end in 1918. It started after the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand after which Germany declared war on Russia. The war is one of the deadliest conflicts ever recorded of human history, in which more than 16 million people died. The Russian Army had a lot of citizens enlisted as soldiers, around 6.500.000, but did not have enough weapons for all of them. Above this, they did not have enough doctors that worked for the Army, so a lot of wounded soldiers ended up dying for a lack of medical treatment. all of these facts, plus the escalation of violence that the Russian society was witnessing everyday, helped to shape the public opinion in to being against the war, because of the high casualty rate.
