I'm pretty sure its C since immigrants are known as hard workers and contributed a lot to the Industrial Revolution. :) Hope this helps!

Because they came to make a new living in the US, they were willing to do whatever they can to find work and be able to live in the US that they accepted jobs that were underpaid and had poor working conditions.
