Children's Literature sometimes portrays characters that face and deal with many conflicts or challenges that stem from nature and/or society, other individuals, and/or from within. Compare and contrast two characters, one from each of Hana's Suitcase: A True Story and Charlotte's Web, focusing PRIMARILY on the various conflicts they face and how they overcome the obstacles and hardships in order to survive in the world(s) they live in. PreparationPlease note that you must respond to this question by reading on 'plot' and 'conflict' that can be found in the file 'literary elements,' in Course Documents. Ensure you read the explanation of conflict's relationship to 'Plot' and the various forms of conflict that typically emerge in fiction. You must discuss at least two of the conflicts listed. Also, please note that this essay does NOT ask you to discuss characterisation. You should not compare and contrast the characters. Instead, you should focus on their conflicts. Also, do not simply narrate the plots of the stories. Focus on conflict onlyI must also point out that CONFLICT WITH SELF is very tricky. If you choose to conflict with self, make sure you provide clear evidence WHERE such conflict occurs–DO NOT SPECULATE. If you are unsure about conflict with self, initiate a discussion on the discussion board.I must also direct your attention to the structure of this essay. You are advised not to focus on one book at a time. Outline your essay with CONFLICTS in mind and explore how your characters experience those conflicts. You should choose similar conflicts for both your characters if you want the essay to be of a comparative nature.
